As its 19th Public Seminar the Pathfinder Foundation(PF) under its Sanvada (Dialogue) programme organized a meeting on the above titled “Unleashing the People’s Potential: What should be done?

Mr. Charitha Ratwatte former Secretary to the Treasury and Chairman of the Steering Committee of PF presented the findings of the study and policy recommendations which will empower people and accelerate the economic growth in Sri Lanka.  This presentation focused on the policies needed for  individual entrepreneurs, family businesses as well as large scale private enterprises to achieve their maximum potential. .

 

This seminar was chaired and moderated by former senior Deputy Governor of The Central Bank and a highly respected economist Mr. W.A. Wijewardena while other panelists included Dr. Lalithasiri Gunaruwan, former General Manager Railways and currently a Senior Lecturer in Economics at the University of Colombo, Dr. Anura Ekanayake Chairman Ceylon Chamber of Commerce and Mr. Manjula  De Silva Managing Director HNB Assurance.

The seminar was well attended by the private sector, policy makers and media. The open forum led to a very constructive discussion with the participants contributing largely with their experiences as well as requirements.
