Dr. Muttukrishna Sarvananthan has obtained a Doctorate in Development Economics at the Centre for Development Studies, University of Wales and is currently on a Post Doctoral Fulbright Fellowship at George Washington University

He is the Principal Researcher of the Point Pedro Institute of Development. He has worked as a Consultant to the Ministry of Finance & Planning, various private research institutions , Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA), International Labour Organization (ILO),  United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the World Bank. Dr. Sarvananthan is a well known expert analyst specializing in economic development, ethnicity and Conflict Affected Regions in Sri Lanka.
