The Pathfinder Foundation meeting (Sanvada) on the above was held on the 26th of August 2009 at the Galle face Hotel, Colombo. Some of the country’s well known economists, businessmen, academics and government officials attended this ‘invitees only’ discussion panelist. The four panelist i.e.  Dr. Saman Kelegama – ‘IMF loan facility – Challenges, Opportunity & Policy Options for Sri Lanka’, Prof. W D Lakshman – ‘A way forward’, Dr. Anura Ekanayake – ‘Private sector points of view’ and Dr. Usvatte-aratchi – ‘ IMF Loan: What Is the Fuss About? ’.

The objective of this exercise was to develop a Policy Brief with specific recommendations for submission to the Government and other relevant stakeholders for consideration during the preparation of the Government Budget 2010.
