Pathfinder Foundation’s 22nd Sanvada programme on Making Sri Lanka a Financial and Commercial Hub was held on the 29th of July 2010 at the Sri Lanka Foundation Institute.

 

Mr. W A Wijewardena, former Senior Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka chaired and presented the research findings of PF study on the development of Sri Lanka as a financial and commercial hub. Mr. Murtaza Jafferjee, of J B Securities followed with an excellent presentation on The Need to Focus on Total Factor Productivity in Sri Lanka. A Prespective from the Financial Press was given by the Editor of the Daily FT, Mr. Nisthar Cassim and A Private Sector view point was made by Dr. Anura Ekanayake, the Chairman of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce.

The public seminar was well attended by the banking and finance sector, NGO’s, academia, media and members of parliament.
