Pathfinder Foundation is a non-profit, non-partisan, research and advocacy institute which conducts periodic Community meetings or Seminars titled Sanvada (dialogue). The Sanvada programme of Pathfinder Foundation is aimed at critical analysis and debate on proposed or likely legislative initiatives impacting upon the economy and society of Sri Lanka, in order to enrich the legislative process in the Parliament and outside.

 
Towards the Revival of the Economy of Northern Sri Lanka

The Pathfinder Foundation and the Point Pedro Institute of Development in collaboration with the Jaffna Managers’ Forum organized a Public Forum on the Economic Revival of the Northern Province. The meeting was held on the 5th of June 2009 from 9:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall.

Gender Budgeting – road to empowerment or….
ImageThe Pathfinder Foundation in collaboration with the Women’s Chamber of Industry and Commerce (WCIC) organized the fourth public meeting for the year and 11th in the series of Sanvada. The meeting took place on the 19th (Friday) of September from 9:00 am -12:00 pm at the Sri Lanka Institute of Development Administration. The topic under discussion was Integrating a Gender Perspective to the National Budget of Sri Lanka. The main presenter at the Sanvada was Dr. (Mrs) Masinghe, a former Consultant to the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Finance. The other panelists included Dr. S P Premaratne, a Senior Lecture in Economics at the University of Colombo and Ms. Sriyani Perera, ActionAid International Asia Region Women’s Rights Coordinator.
