Pathfinder Foundation is a non-profit,
non-partisan, research and advocacy institute which conducts periodic
Community meetings or Seminars titled Sanvada (dialogue). The
Sanvada programme of Pathfinder Foundation is aimed at critical
analysis and debate on proposed or likely legislative initiatives impacting
upon the economy and society of Sri Lanka, in order to enrich the legislative
process in the Parliament and outside.

The
Pathfinder Foundation meeting (Sanvada) on the above was held on the 26th
of August 2009 at the Galle face Hotel, Colombo. Some of the country’s well
known economists, businessmen, academics and government officials attended this
